Goofs

J'onn mentions that Thomas Coville's knowledge of the Worldkillers came from a Kryptonian priestess who escaped from Fort Rozz. Just a moment later, when they determine it has to be Jindah Kol Rozz, J'onn says "...in all the time Fort Rozz was marooned here on Earth, she never got out." And Jindah can't have escaped before Kara threw Fort Rozz into space, since the whole plot of the episode is that Kara has to go to there in order to find her. See more »

Quotes

Supergirl: I'm not here to fight you, I'm... I'm here because I need your help.
Leslie Willis: My help? I loathe you!
Supergirl: I know why you're working here. It's because of Reign. She's been killing criminals, so you decided to go straight. Smart.
Leslie Willis: Yeah, well, some of those criminals were people I knew. Friends of mine.
Supergirl: And they didn't deserve to die.
Leslie Willis: No, they didn't.
Supergirl: So help me get Reign.
Leslie Willis: I saw you get bodyslammed by that GLOW reject on Christmas. It was all over the news. You think I'm up for a beatdown like that just because...

Flying Close to the Sun
23 January 2018 | by ThomasDrufkeSee all my reviews

It's always fun to see our heroes team up with villains they have been attempting to stop for years. In Supergirl's case, there hasn't really been a villain I have cared enough to get to that point. No matter, Livewire and Psi took the placeholder of villains teaming up to fight the bigger bad, Reign.

These last few episodes have been far from memorable, but definitely solid enough to keep my invested interested. While all of that was going on, Kara got closer to regaining her powers, and Alex babysitted Ruby while Sam/Reign was on 'vacation'. To me, the best way to go about the second half is to involve Reign as much as possible. Rarely last season did we have someone consistently appear on the show that wasn't one of the good guys. The reveal at the end showing Sam's complete unawareness of her actions is a fresh take on a villain, and I'm hoping that it continues to interest me.

I don't really have much insight on the episode tonight as a whole, but it's another solid, serviceable entry into season 3. That's pretty much what I say every week.
