Valentijn Bentinck is a wealthy, charismatic man haunted by the mystery of his unknown past. He comes across a terrorist organization set to release a "selective" virus. In his investigation he discovers a link to his own past.
This is a sort of poor man's mix of James Bond, the Saint and Bruce Wayne. Valentijn Bentinck is a rich man, who, while an orphan since birth, still got taken in and raised by a wealthy industrialist, who left him his business empire. (Right there from the start you realize there's something fishy). So yes, the plot doesn't rise above the 9-12 year old boyhood level: It's all quite predictable.
Having never seen the TV-series nor was I burdened with even a morzel of knowledge about it, I had to judge this as a stand alone. It's not good. It's even bad. Still giving it a 3 for not-bad production values, even if the special effects are very so-so. Apparently they wasted a lot of money filming in Turin, Italy. Worst fight scenes everrrrrr.
The Melancholic Alcoholic.
