Quotes

Dr. Claire Finn: [after Marcus is caught with a bottle of alcohol] I'm starting to think that I suck at this parenting thing.

it's basically "Friends" in space.

This series defies classification. This episode was rather boring for a season premiere. Disappointed at the lack of high risk scenarios and space battles. In fact, even some middle risk scenarios would have been good. Going to Bortis' home-world to watch him pee is just a plot device so they can have melodramatic interplay in the uninspiring relationship between Seth and his number 2 in command. It had it's moments though, I think they are doing a good job fine tuning the humour so it is more believable, and getting the balance right. Moments like the Commander sneaking up outside in the shuttle to spy on his ex, and when the ginger navigator guy (sorry, i forgot his name) walks up to the girl and then immediately does a 180 and walks back, were both amusing and believable, even in the sci-fi setting. Exposing quirky character traits in the crew works well in all time-lines, past, present, and future, and we need more of that, and less of the crude family guy fart jokes. Also, we want more space battles, and less stupid soap drama.

For a season 2 premiere, this should have been much stronger, but I expect this season will deliver a few good episodes, just as the previous one did.
