Storyline

Allen is recruited to join the secret Project Blue Book team, as General Harding feels that Captain Quinn's reports debunking any reported possible alien sightings need to be backed by a logical, scientific explanation, and who better to provide that than a renowned astrophysicist who has previously done work for the military. Allen's reticent acceptance of the position is due to a mixture of this area not being his true field, but he feeling that he can truly delve into a scientific study of if alien life does or does not exist in working on the project. He may not realize that the Air Force's team on Blue Book solely wants him to provide that scientific evidence to explain whatever witnessed phenomenon, without truly wanting the truth if alien life does exist. Allen's arrival onto the team is not by accident as, despite losing the narrative on the issue to a crop of sensational Hollywood movies, the Air Force has to deal with one of its own, Lieutenant Hank Fuller, who is in a ... A very intriguing and interesting introduction to the best UFO/Extraterrestrial series since X files/
10 January 2019 | by tresm87See all my reviews

When this was announced, I was very excited especially with the fact that Robert Zemeckis was involved, and that it would be an actual series based on true events that looked to have great potential with its production quality. After watching the fantastic first thoroughly ENGROSSING episode, I can confirm that imo this is indeed already the best show we've gotten for UFO/Alien subject matter since the timeless early seasons of The X files. While it is heavily influenced from The X files in its structure, tone, and overall delivery, it stands on its own quite well enough to sustain its own identity. The acting is tremendous so far especially from Aidan Gillen and Michael Malarkey, and you really do become enamored with Dr. Hynek's fascinatingly brilliant character. Overall they did a terrific job portraying the true story it was based on with an extremely captivating first episode full of great twists, turns and solid mystery that keeps you wanting another episode immediately. The production quality is excellent with outstanding camerawork, vast settings, and accurate ambience and atmosphere to fit the late 40's/50's timeframe. A series thats definitely worthy of your time.
