One thing the movie carries its potential to have a nature of repetitiveness is the cinematography. It was just top notch and few shots are leaving my sight when i close my eyes. It was just awesome. Story and screenplay where good enough but felt like second half didnt had much to hold the emotions tighter and by the end u get a feeling of dragging emotional connect. The initial of point of the story was very nice the way joshua explores himself is the story. Loved the performance of 3lead actors.
This film is one of the good drama romance genre of 2018...this movie mainly revolves with the life of joshua and jenny...the director was able showcase the complete journey of their life through a travelogue....a sense of love and affection between them are well presented in this film...
Rarely do I give an 8* for a film, but this one deserves it. A quiet love story with none of the loud boisterous dialogues or over the top fight scenes Prithviraj is usually associated with. This has all to do with genuine love. Nazriya Nazin was refreshing in her role as Prithviraj's sister, her cuteness injected life in the proceedings. Parvathy as Prithviraj love interest was very touching. When the Director make you feel the pain and love of the characters, that's when they succeed in truly reaching the audience. Well done Anjali Menon !! Hope you make more such great movies in your career !! The support cast played their role to the hilt. The ending too stirred at your heart. Recommend to watch this movie, especially when you feel melancholic.
A little more than four years after Bangalore Days, writer-director Anjali Menon has returned to the box office with Koode (Together). The slice-of-life movie is an adaptation of Sachin Kundalkar's Marathi film Happy Journey. Soon after I finished watching Koode, I watched the trailer of the original Marathi film, just to get a sense of how differently Anjali has reimagined this tale of fantasy.
Anjali Menon proves yet again why she's the master at depicting relationships, whether that be between blood bonds or pure love. Koode is another one in her list of exemplar movies. It tops her best film before Koode, Manjadikuru.
Koode is magical at times, pulling the viewers in for a experience that will stay with you for a long, long time. Prithviraj encompasses a role that is difficult, hard and almost painful to portray and combine that with wonderfully woven characters, you get Koode. Nazriya is not a plus, she is the soul of the film. Her comeback is certainly a very well made one. Koode is not a emotional roller-coaster that gives you all the chills and tears. It's perhaps a rare sight in Malayalam cinema where dark, subtle characters get treatment that even complex ones don't.
Koode's depiction of brother-sister relationship is spot on. All the awkwardness, the fights, the emotional aspect , all meet together in the Nazriya-Prthvi combo. The songs, the score were pretty neat, considering that the score does play a important part aside from the conversations.
Koode's main selling point is the 2 and half hour content the film presents. The pace is slow but engaging to an extent where you will forget that you're actually watching an almost 3 hour movie.
Koode is the best from Malayalam in 2018 ; so far. It will be hard to top. Really, really hard to top.
