If there is one part of the Bible that has undergone more scrutiny and abuse than any other, it is the very beginning-GENESIS. Both from within and without the church, assaults on GENESIS continue to question the Creation and ultimately the Creator. So, what exactly happened at the "Creation," at the "Beginning?" Creation Today and Seven Fold Films is proud to announce that for the first time ever, using stunning visual effects and the latest in scientific research, GENESIS will come to life right before your very eyes. We have heard the phrase "In the beginning" many times; now we get to see it on the big screen.
Interesting Genesis docu informs when it stays on track
This Bible themed documentary is probably top-tier in a genre of film that many believers feel forced to accept, despite low standards of quality. This film is an exception. I am one of the only professing Christians I know who will openly bash cinematic horrors such as "God's Not Dead". However, I was thoroughly pleased with the information and the series of facts presented in Genesis: Paradise Lost.
It's premise is simple: to debunk any falsehoods concerning the origins of Earth. Unlike many movies that tend to define religious film, Genesis: Paradise Lost debates evolution intellectually, and heavy-handedly. It gives the right amount of attention to every aspect, and does a good job of simply laying out the facts. While there is some evident bias toward creation (there always is), it doesn't have the feel of a movie that wants to doctrinies you or force it's worldview down your throat.
On the flip side, one thing I can say I wasn't particularly impressed with was the re-imagining of Genesis 1-2 in CGI. The animation was short of phenomenal, and it divert it's attention from the debate that I was watching the movie to see. If this movie had ONE problem, it scatters it's attention a tad too much, and in doing so, spreads itself thin.
This movie probably will never get the mainstream recognition it deserves, due to it's quality and talent. However, the commentators are strong, and makes their arguments known in a "non-preaching-to-the-choir-esque" way. This should be viewed by those both strong in their faiths, and those looking to question something that cultivates their worldview.
