Two words: A Must Watch !
anchit-3082324 March 2018
Amidst the crap (all recent Salman and Sharukh Khan movies) made in India, this should have deserved to make money and appreciated by the audience.

Very refreshing and realistic
ramendas2111 November 2017
After a long time I watched a movie which have all aspects of a middle class family. The depiction was so surreal you would feel it could happen to anyone.

It also tells you a lesson that don't hurt a man's ego wrongfully and communication is a key.

Rajkumar Rao as usual a star performer. Kriti did her job well. Big contribution from Nayani Dikshit.

Go and watch!

Entertaining film with a predictable end!!
tapishvijantv10 November 2018
This movie's plot is very interesting and the story has a couple of surprise elements in it. But i think the plot still suffers from inconsistency and lazy writing. I think the film is trying to address too many things which it cannot. It's like i watched two good films at once and now having difficulty trying to separate their storyline from one another. The film could have been a lot better if it had stick with one storyline. The climax of the film was cliched and was predictable. Despite all the negative aspects in this film, it wasn't short of entertainment. I liked the film and would easily recommend it to others. The acting, storyline, direction, set design, background score all were top notch. It's one of those films that you would easily point out mistakes from but still won't be shy to love it.

While giving points to a movie I ask myself "what was wrong" and then deduct the points but in this movie I couldn't.
drprashantjmd10 November 2017
Movies address social problems and offer solutions to them, at times oversimplified ones and these have to be dealt with in a span of 100-150 mins. This movie deals with dowry, women emancipation, arrange marriages and patriarchy. These are the problems a director faces and yet has to choose whether to entertain the viewers or sermonize them. While choosing to do the former Ratna Sinha leaves a simple message (I am not sure if she meant to): don't fight with these problems, transcend them! All the characters have looked beyond a particular stereotype, scores a 100% there. It didn't seem as if any of them were after justifying any ideology or dogma or preconceived notion, they were just guided by the demands of the situation. They just were, and did justice to there characters. The movie opens convincingly. The guy and gal are both apprehensive of the prospects but then they get along emphatically. There is humor. There is romance, honest and of an innocent kind. Then there is reality interspersed, about dowry-bargaining and the modicum of its acceptance, a sister trying to help; a mother keeping traditions- even if wrong. Another mother breaking them for her daughter. Both fathers fighting for there honor and the best for their children. First half ends with the girl running away minutes before her marriage but not without feeling for the groom. Second half begins with the possibility of revenge but the whole idea is passe. Hence the writer did well to avoid an all-out vengeful scenario. A scene or two may seem a little odd for the charade but in hindsight 'Sattu', in love as he was in, couldn't have disclosed his intentions for the sake of the plot of the movie. Rao's acting is great. Kriti's is superb. She looks like the dream- girl through and through and in addition is honest and unegotistical- unlike men- for the entire duration. In fact one should laud her for, what others may call- even if exceptionally- a stretched ending. She is the one who portrays love, unconditional love, in this period. All in all this movie is a great watch except for those bitter in love. Shaadi mein zaroor jana!

A Great Romantic Film With A Stupid Ending !!!
singhankitrajput5 November 2018
Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, directed by Ratnaa Singh and starring Rajkumar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda is a 2017 romantic comedy film which also showcases the evil practices happening in our society like the dowry system and gender stereotypes etc. The pacing of the film is quite good and boast of some really good performances from both the leads Rajkumar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda. The movie choices of Rajkumar Rao is just spot on and he has proved once again that he is the most versatile actors of this industry. However, there were many loopholes in the film because sometimes it felt unreal as to how the government employees can react in this way ?? The ending of the film is a big letdown as that kind of ending was really not necessary for this kind of film. The moral of the film is really good one and especially for the men out there that - " SUCCESS IS THE BEST REVENGE "

Simple and must watch movie
khairnarkunal1 December 2017
This is the one of the best love story in bollywood romantic movies. The script is very well written and all the characters performing in the movie had given their 100% that's what makes it beautiful. Few conversations in the movie I like the most and I love to watch them all the time like Sattu and Aarti's first meet, Parent's bargaining over dowry and fight when wedding is called off, IAS Sattu and Sub Registrar Aarti's first meet, Men's toilet conversation...and many more.. Kirti is so beautiful and charming, her innocentness in the character makes her desirable woman. I love her and no doubt on acting of Rajkumar. He is one of the finest actor in bollywood. Congratulations to all the people who are involved in making of this movie so beautiful and successful..I hope they will make such kind of movies all the time..Best of luck..Must watch movie..no doubt 10/10..

SHAADI MEIN ZAROOR AANA rests on an interesting idea but the treatment is lacklustre
fillerruth9 November 2017
SHAADI MEIN ZAROOR AANA's first half has issues but you let it pass as the goings on has genuinely some nice moments. The manner in which Sattu and Aarti fall for each other is cute. The entire dowry portion is well thought of. The dramatic sequence when Aarti runs away is dragging but makes for a decent watch. The second half also begins well but soon enough, the film goes downhill. One fails to understand how exactly do the makers want to present Sattu? Should the viewers sympathize with him for all the wrongdoings? Or should they hate him for the villainous and even lecherous way with which he tortures Aarti? The entire bribery investigation sequence ends on a dramatic note and one expects the film to end there. But the film drags for another 20-25 minutes. This portion is again needlessly lengthened and is highly predictable.

Kamal Pandey's story is interesting but comes too late in the day. Maybe it is not intentionally done but the first half is very similar to the first hour of BADRINATH KI DULHANIA and the last 20 minutes are eerily similar to BAREILLY KI BARFI, which also starred Rajkummar Rao. Kamal Pandey's screenplay is fine at few places but overall it's quite a letdown. Kamal Pandey's dialogues are simple and decent.

Ratnaa Sinha's direction doesn't make the desired impact. The film is unconvincing and silly at many points. Many scenes go on and on despite the fact that it's clear what the maker wants to show in the beginning of the said scene itself.

Rajkummar Rao as always delivers a great performance. As the lover boy Sattu, he's endearing and as the ruthless DM, he's dashing and plays both the avatars brilliantly. Kriti Kharbanda does a much better job here than her previous Hindi releases. However her character keeps crying in the second half and after a point, it becomes too much. Govind Namdev (Aarti's father) is fair. Vipin Sharma (Sattu's maternal uncle) leaves a mark. Manoj Pahwa (Aarti's uncle Jogi) is the best out of the supporting cast. Nayani Dixit comes next and dominates the pre interval portion. K K Raina (Sattu's father Jugal Kishore Mishra) underplays his part nicely. Navni Parihar (Aarti's mother) and the actors playing Aarti's brother, Sattu's mother, Sharad, Aarti's junior and Pramod are fine. Songs are disappointing. 'Jogi' and 'Main Hoon Saath Tere' are forgettable. 'Tu Banja Gali Benaras Ki' is the best song of the lot. 'Pallo Latke' is played in the end credits. Prasad Sashte's background score is dramatic and tries to enhance the impact.

Suresh Beesaveni's cinematography is satisfactory. Ballu Saluja's editing is one of the biggest culprits. Pradip Singh and Arup Adhikari's art direction is nothing great.

On the whole, SHAADI MEIN ZAROOR AANA rests on an interesting idea but the treatment is lacklustre. With lack of buzz, the film will have a tough time at the box office.

Awesome Movie Women liberation and empowerment and Awareness among Youth for Civil Services
sskoorss14 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
First half of the movies is pretty fun and romantic type slow and steady, with the chocolate boy Raj Kumar Roa and beautiful Kriti Kharbanda screening and songs are creating a seat holding for viewers. Family Drama also set very nicely couldn't done better than Tanu and Manu Banners. After Intermission story hold a dramatic change among the main leading role of the Actor and Actress too. while male character dominating the second half, first half goes to female. Characters similar to the parents side also dominating each half of the Movie time. This story set the whole idea of Indian society and Community. I thing i also find some situation here and resembles myself. First Half inspire the Girls aspiring for IAS & PCS services while second half even more motivate the Boys there is nothing better than an IAS job. Movies also depicted the Character of an IAS how he can work and investigate and side the truth. Ending is pretty much dramatic also. At the end i would like to give this movie a refreshing story with a middle or low class level dream and how they can solve there problem to share with each others by trusting each other. Well done producer and Director, Raj Kumar Roa has done quiet well in Acting he is a new ShahRukh and Kriti Kharbanda also charming and beautiful as Madhuri Dixit.

They have made a mockery of IAS and PCS officers
coolkashv22 October 2018
It touches on various social evils and then leaves and forgets the issues, it somehow glorifies dowry system, gender stereotypes and the movie gets away by showing a patriarchal family. There were many loopholes and nobody's actions were justified. The characters were superficial and artificial in order to aid the story-line.

There is so much wrong with this movie
jbhadra25 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This movie starts with so much promise! It promises to talk about dowry, women emancipation, mother-in-laws that should be in jail. But it ends up being a bollywood soap. In this movie, its the woman's fault if she chooses career over marriage in a highly conservative family. But taking dowry is OK. And even after being a high ranking government officer, the man has to study harder, get a better job and come and rescue her. I am just surprised that it got a rating of 8! Dont get me wrong, the acting is great! But the story is written by someone who believes in a patriarchal society. The moral, its always the woman's fault and she will always need a man to rescue her...

A treat to watch
saurabh76002 March 2018
To be honest I was waiting for a long time to watch such a beautiful movie. It is different and not so predictable movie after watching the trailer. Kirti Kharbanda is looking a gem in the movie and has done justice to her role. Rajkumar is no longer an actor we should doubt on. Together both of them have made this movie worth a watch for everyone; even for those who don't like this type of movie. Trust me you are going to love the Banarasi accent in the movie. I have watched this movie 4-5 times and my friends were asking for an HD print of movie which came very late. Can't give less than 9 stars to the movie. A star less as the movie could have been a little shorter after the first half.

Kirti you are very pretty and beautiful and I am one of your craziest fan. <3<3

A Delightful film with good performances
raghavrastogi-977516 December 2018
This movie is a romantic-revenge-drama which does present few prevalent social issues, without dwelling too much in depth. The plot does has some loop holes with logic and conviction/stand taken by the characters, but it's a movie afterall. All the actors fit in perfectly well and have done complete justice. Watchable for its little hatke romance story between the characters played by Kriti and Rajkumar.

The Beauty Of Simplicity
rahuljathuz22 November 2018
The beauty of the protective feeling when your loved one loves you from within the heart but he/she doesn't showcase the feeling due to insecurity but is always there to protect you when you are low. That feeling is a blessing for many. Satyendra aka Sattu was always the protective shield to Aarti, his beloved who left him. Rajkumar Rao once again proved that the future of Bollywood is safe in his hands. Kriti Kharbanda's bollywood debut was through a cool movie. The movie has a little bit of cliche dialogues but it makes you feel good after the first watch. Please watch if you are a romantic movie lover

Bakwas.... Tragedical Hindi Serial
srb4666314 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A complete waste of time. I regretted so much after watching this movie, while Thor & Itefaq were still running in theaters. Forcibly bringing miss-communications in the story from nowhere & 5 years of distance, then wanting 2 take revenge and at last horrible ending. WTF. How this movie is rated so high. Absolutely no flow and mismatched characters. Such a useless and annoying movie. No message, no catchy dialogues, Songs from no where, Build up story. Never expected from Rajkumar Rao after watching Shahid, Newton. I have given this 1 rating, as the actress was decorated nicely in traditional Indian fashion.

A Must Watch!!!
madhursksharma10 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I make it a habit of not missing R.Rao movies but was a bit hesitant after reading the reviews...but believe me, critics are too harsh on this movie.

R.Rao, as usual, has no match for his acting and Kriti brings a soft vulnerability to her role that we can't really hate her for her actions. Story is similar to BNKD but the treatment is not only different, but much better in this one. And contrary to people who think that the movie should have ended after the revenge of our hero, I certainly feel that the last 20 minutes bring a much needed closure and enhance the entertainment value of the film.

And lastly, do watch the Pallo Latke song till the end!

Capsule Review: Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana
TejasNair12 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Things travel at the speed of light in Ratnaa Sinha's debut film, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, a romantic drama that daringly goes haywire in the second half. The chemistry between the talented Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, at her shimmering best, is palpable, but it is the revenge elements in the second half that is unbearable. In addition to lack of logic or credibility in the plot, director Sinha makes her characters do ugly things just because she wants the whole shindig to look intense. Of course, the sequences are intense enough to put you in a state of numbness, and the story does chafe few stark social issues like dowry and gender discrimination to stay relevant, but all that Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana manages to pull off is an annoying revenge drama that is just too sour to consume. The second half becomes highly annoying as you see one illogical sequence after another to a point of a cringe-worthy climax that will make you puke. The film is a pleasure to watch in the start but once you complete the first 40 minutes, it starts to throw bombs of drivel at you that never stop and does not even address the problem that gave rise to the revenge arc. Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is like a romantic Hindi TV soap opera (possibly in Life OK channel) whose title does not make sense and the main story involves an inaccessible revenge drama. TN.

One of the Worst Movie I have seen
hazrasr22 November 2017
1. worst movie with illogical story line 2. mishandled execution of very sensitive issue 3. could lead people to a very wrong direction about dowry and women empowerment in a country like India I am really very surprised and angry that it has been directed by a female director. Shame!!!

Unbelievably Sexist Movie and a Waste of Time, Money and Energy.
koyelranu-135-5799411 December 2017
It's shockingly unbelievable that such a sexist movie could be packaged to a clueless audience who'd be lured with the name of seeing Rajkumar Rao in the cast. The IMDb ranking of 8.4 is also responsible. One wonders where as a country we are going when social evils like dowry which are jailable offense are completely put aside to set forth a "revenge drama" of a jilted man who can't face rejection, and goes on to woo a woman whose doormat avatar in the second half obviously helps things. Even if you disregard the "social message" of this film which stands to be women shouldn't pursue careers and hell has seen no fury like a rejected, scorned man, the movie fails on so many levels in engaging the attention of the viewer. There are not only holes in logic, but holes in direction, music, background score, and so many other levels.

My eyes are bleeding from watching such a pile of crap in the name of cinema.
