During an interview on the National Public Radio program "Weekend Edition Sunday," Ali Wong said that one way she wanted to set this movie apart form other, more conventional romantic comedies was to omit the traditional "makeover" subplot for the female lead: "...something that people picked up on is that she wears her glasses from the beginning to the end.... Great fun movie and the actors were good. It went up a notch when Keanu Reeves entered the story. He was brilliant. I couldn't stop laughing. I haven't laughed like that in a long time. Love the way he was happy to make fun of himself.
