Dames Eileen Atkins, Judi Dench, Joan Plowright and Maggie Smith have let the cameras in on a friendship that goes back more than half a century. The four acting greats discuss their careers and reminisce about their humble beginnings in the theatre.
Despite the American release title "Tea With the Dames", the dames are never actually seen drinking tea, with the exception of Eileen Atkins having a tea cup in front of her in one segment, and Judi Dench being offered a coffee mug of some beverage in another segment. The film was exquisite. So rich in content, though there was no script. The dames were not disappointing and spoke candidly of their past experiences. At times, it touched on a bit of sadness due to the way things have led on, but in the end, it's about these marvellous women sharing their life with us.
