Trivia

When Poe is playing poker, the final "river" card has a binary value in the top left that translates to 4B 53 in hexadecimal code. In the ANSI/ASCII character encoding used by most computers, this is translated to "KS", which probably indicates that the card is a King of Spades. See more »

Goofs

Rei recounts what she told Quell in the shuttle ("because they gave me life"), but she could not have remembered that because she was later restored from backup. See more »

Holy naked clones!

Rei tightens her noose on Kovacs and forces him to resolve the Bancroft case in a way that deflects blame from her. The result is a Poirot-style resolution followed by a confrontation that only the world of Altered Carbon could produce.

All aspects of this series are at their best in Clash By Night. Poe continues to be one of the most human and surprising characters of the show. Kovacs finally figures out what Rei's objective is. And Ortega comes up against the threat that Rei respresents.

This episode has lots of answers, ties off several threads, but pivots the story in a new direction. The quality is comparably high to the rest of the series. Revelations are rampant. And, the momentum increasing towards the conclusion of the season. We are hooked again!
