Unexpectedly, costume designer Eva has become a widow. The surprises continue when an unknown child's drawing is discovered in her husband's possessions, and even though Eva would generously ignore the discovery, her daughter, whose life is falling apart at the seams, latches onto the idea of an estranged stepbrother.
