  • The Wrap
“Nailed It!” is coming back for a third season at Netflix, with hosts Nicole Byer and pastry chef Jacques Torres once again at the helm of this hot mess of a baking competition. Six new episodes will launch on Netflix May 17.

The series follows contestants with questionable baking skills trying to recreate culinary masterpieces for the chance to win a $10,000 prize. The crazy challenges the bakers will be tasked with this season include a “Black Panther” cake, a cotton-candy flavored clown cake, a cake-replica of Michelangelo’s statue of David, a T. rex cake, a fondant-covered doll cake, and a layered bust of Napoleon Bonaparte.

In each episode, contestants compete in two challenges. In the first, called “Baker’s Choice,” they choose a cake to recreate. The winner of round one gets a special prize and a golden chef’s hat. In the second challenge, “Nail It or Fail It,

‘Gay of Thrones’: Queer eye for the Stark guy recaps the ‘Game of Thrones’ season 8 premiere [Watch]
If I’m being honest, the most important reason to watch the “Game of Thrones” season 8 premiere was to be prepared for the “Gay of Thrones” season 8 premiere, “Winterfella” (watch above). The Funny or Die web series is the queer-hairdresser-throwing-shade recap you didn’t know you needed in your life.

“Buckle up, queen, because the wall is down, a woman’s on the throne — it’s the America I wish I was living in!” orders Jonathan Van Ness, who was gay for “Thrones” before he became one of the new fab five on Netflix’s “Queer Eye.” He’s joined this week by guest Bryan Safi, with whom he breaks down the latest developments for Christina Aguilera (Daenerys), Baby Miss Cleo (Bran Stark), Evil No-Volume Carol Brady (Cersei Lannister), Hunty McTrade (Gendry) and more.

Netflix, Amazon Launch Live Events In Expensive Streamer Battle For Emmy Voter Attention
In terms of Emmys, let the streamers battle begin as both Netflix and Amazon are again taking over Hollywood venues to show off their contenders to Television Academy members and other industryites in an up-close-and-personal kind of way.

Today, Netflix announced the lineup for its third annual Fysee Emmy battle plan, beginning a monthlong campaign May 5 when director Martin Scorsese and Bruce Springsteen launch a series of live events at the Netflix exhibition space and theater at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. Netflix is the home of the TV special, Springsteen on Broadway, hence the Springsteen connection. Scorsese directed The Irishman, which is expected to be a major player for Netflix in the next Oscar race.

The near-daily series of Q&As, conversations, screenings and interactive events will close June 9 when Oprah Winfrey will host director Ava DuVernay and the cast of their limited series When They See Us, the story

Netflix driving hard into the stand-up comedy space has reached its predictable outcome: the streaming giant's star power will dominate the upcoming Just for Laughs festival in Montreal.

Women’s Group Flies Plane Over Netflix HQ to Urge Georgia Production Ban Over Anti-Abortion Law

National women’s advocacy group UltraViolet took its Netflix protest to the next level earlier today by flying a plane over the streaming giant’s headquarters in Los Gatos, California in order to urge the company to stop filming in Georgia. UltraViolet has been leading the charge against Netflix in the wake of Georgia’s proposed anti-abortion law, Hb 481. The law seeks to ban abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, which is before many women know they’re pregnant. Ultraviolet is calling on Netflix to stop filming in Georgia until the law is vetoed or repealed.

The plane flying over Netflix headquarters had a banner that read: Netflix: Protect Women. Stop Filming In Georgia. The protest stunt came in the wake of UltraViolet’s online petition urging Netflix to stop filming in Georgia. The petition currently has over 22,000 signatures and counting. Such Netflix series as “Ozark,” “Stranger Things,” and

‘Queer Eye’ Fans Help Raise $95,000 for Contestant to Go Back to College
Queer Eye” helped give contestant Jess Guilbeaux a makeover in Season 3, and now fans of the show have helped her return to college.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $95,000 of its $100,000 goal. The GoFundMe page, set up by Vanessa Gamet, says Guilbeaux is a “strong, black lesbian woman” who was thrown out of the house by her adoptive family at age 16 after coming out, and has been financially independent ever since. She started studying computer science at the University of Kansas, but was forced to drop out after accumulating too much debt.

Guilbeaux said she has been in contact with Gamet and confirmed that the fundraiser is legitimate. She tweeted, “This is so sweet. i have no words. i’m dehydrated at this point,” followed by crying emojis.

Why Daenerys’s Ultimate Fate May Have Already Been Revealed . . . by Her Hair
Could Daenerys Targaryen's hair be full of secrets? Game of Thrones' final season is hurtling toward its April premiere, but it's possible that Emilia Clarke unknowingly spoiled her character's ultimate fate way back in September 2017 with an innocent-enough Instagram. Posting her hair transformation just before filming on the last season began, Clarke revealed that for the first time, she had her own hair dyed platinum, a departure from the previous seasons' practice of using wigs for the blonde ruler.

The naturally brunette actress wrote, "I done did it. Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons. If you squint just so you might never know. All hail to the magnificence of @kevalexanderhair and @candicebanks74 the genius creators of 'Khaleesi Wig' (and not forgetting all the hair on game of thrones for 8 glorious years) for at long last making this magical moment a reality."

All the focus here is on the color change,
