Daniel Friend is the owner of a spiritual retreat in the island. He also turns out to be a man of mystery which DI Mooney uncovers with a history of breaking women's hearts. Right now he had to find his murderer.

Mooney finds that the guests at the retreat may had crossed paths with the victim some time before and reckons that this nearly was a perfectly planned murder.

Ardol O'Hanlon seems to have settled in well in this series and his character has to make a speech for Commissioner Patterson, who is due to receive an important civic award.
