This is my first review on IMDB, but this show is so adorable and so heartwarming I had to try and recommend it to anyone and everyone. The situations brought to the children is of course not the point of the show. It's their take on the world, their ideas, and their brutal honesty that makes the show great. Carol Burnett and Russell Peters have awesome chemistry with the panelists, and the humor actually made me laugh out loud and have to wipe tears from me eyes, whereas most comedy shows only elicit the soft exhale of air from me. I think it would be impossible to be in a bad mood while watching this show, and that earns it a place in my heart.
Burnett is stiff and has an awkward 'is this what i have become' look on her face the entire time she attempts to engage with the well rehearsed, insufferable 'theatrically trained' kids. You can feel the helicopter parents in the background - truly awful.
This show could be so good. I noticed there was a child from a popular youtube program and really, this show could take a hint from that one. The adults and guests here are condescending, narrow-minded, and incredibly scripted. Shows like this shine when there is room for the kids to explore and ramble. It's so stiff I found myself wondering what kind of audience even watches this - is it for kids or adults? Both? It doesn't remind me of the shows I grew up with and watched with my parents - and I'm 33. Have we really slipped that quickly? The show is also incredibly misogynist -- "At what age should girls start dating?" and Mark should really talk to his daughter about her feelings rather than sheltering her like she doesn't have choice or need or desire. Ew.
You're teaching kids here - open your vocabulary. Open your mind when their minds are MOST open.Yes, kids can know about drag queens at any age - they aren't gross or sexual or horrible - don't tell them they can't learn what drag queens do and are. Teach truths and be fun about it because they deserve to know how the old works. Don't let the internet teach them.
These kids are so cute and honest in every way. I love how kids can be truthful and honest and sometimes. It can remind us as adults that sometimes things can still be solved simply.
A little help with Carol Burnett is an amazing show but it almost seems like they have favorite kids because some are on more that others. Other than that I watched 3 episodes all in a row because it was spectacular! Definitely a show on my list.
