This series in set in a future where the world's fish stocks have died out; now the only fish are genetically engineered monsters in tanks kept in orbit! Space fishing is considered men's work but a team of six girls is determined to show that they can do it too. We are introduced to this group through Haru Soramachi, a girl who wants to catch fish for her grandmother. Over the course of the series we see them overcome various adversities to be allowed to train and the dangers they face. We also learn of a mystery concerning the loss of one of the girl's brothers during the early days of space fishing.
This certainly isn't the worst series I watched this season but it was one of the more disappointing as the premise seemed rather fun. The more we learn about the mechanics of space fishing the clearer it becomes that this was inspired by a game. Rather than just catching fish they are assisted by deities summoned on their smartphones. Similarly it isn't explained why the only fish are dangerous monsters or why they are in space. The characters are decent enough and the story does improve when we learn about the loss of Maiko Sakura's brother and their attempts to discover the truth. The animation is decent as are the character designs. Overall I'd say this was an okay series; just not as good as I'd hoped.
