Best Writing of Maz Jobrani
SaMohebi3 October 2018
I just watched the show with my Estonian friend that knew nothing about Iran or Iranian people and political issues. We both very enjoyed the show and laugh so much that our neighbors from downstairs came and warned us to be quiet :) I actually saw another's show of Maz before but as I saw my friend react so much to his show was something very interesting. If you have Netflix it is one of the recommendations for you.

Welcome to America...

I had never even heard about Maz Jobrani prior to stumbling upon "Immigrant" and "I'm Not a Terrorist, But I've Played One on TV" on Netflix and decided to give this guy a chance.

It turned out that I was in for a treat because Maz Jobrani was hillarious and he had lots of great material. There are plenty of laughs to be had throughout the "Immigrant" show. But it was just a shame that some of the material was re-used from the "I'm Not a Terrorist, But I've Played One on TV" show from 2015.

I was thoroughly entertained and amused throughout the entire show, and he has lots of on stage charisma and was good at involving the audience into his material.

If you enjoy stand-up comedy then you should definitely take the time to check out "Maz Jobrani: Immigrant" if you haven't already.

Maz's Best Ever!

I was up last night looking at "Recently Added" on Netflix. I noticed that there was a new stand-up by Maz Jobrani. I have seen some of his earlier shows, and my husband has been to one of his live shows. Let me tell you I did expect to laugh but I didn't think I'd have tears in my eyes! I generally enjoy stand-up comedy but this show was a non-stop belly laugh ride... to the point that I could hardly breathe at times between the laughs...

Of course there was way more than just comedy to Maz's show. I truly enjoyed it and would watch it again and again. He talks about life in present-day America as a husband, a father and an immigrant.

I found truth in this show, as well as irony, hope and of course comedy! He brings everyone together in this show, including non-immigrants.

If you have Netflix, don't miss this!

Maz, as usual, is beyond funny

I discovered him on his "I'm Not a Terrorist, But I've Played One on TV" special and have continued to look for him. He does not disappoint in this Netflix special. He is physically funny, politically and just plain funny. Some of the best parts are when he draws in the audience into the show. Hilarious! But not at their expense!!

He spoke of being an immigrant - and it brought back memories of being a child of an immigrant. (Special and delightful.)

Enjoy!!

You'll understand the meaning of second hand embarrassment if you watch this.

Some people will laugh at anything. #sad

This was the first show of Maz Jobrani i have watched and i am pretty sure it was also the last one. He tried very hard to be funny, but failed miserably. His jokes were based on boring stereotypes as well as the usual Trump scandals, which have been discussed to death months ago. Often he only got his laughs after saying "right? right? right?", forcing his audience to whip out the courtesy clap...

I had to turn it off half way through and i'd highly recommend you to find entertainment somewhere else...

Lacking wit, respect, and truth

Maz Jobrani's show "Immigrant" is currently running on Netflix. As a big fan of stand-up comedy, I naturally watched it, but didn't find it funny in the least. There is no wit, just some silly singing and awkward dancing from a bald guy in a suit, if that's what passes for humor. For example, Maz sings the USA national anthem without words, just using "lai-lai-lai" (sic), and a lot of Middle East dance hip action. His rant against Trump has nothing new, just relating what media has been doing non-stop. IMO the immigration issue in the US is more about circumventing the law and entering the country ILLEGALLY than about immigration in general. Maz Jobrani claims immigrants love America, and that's why they come here. While that's true for some, I find hard to believe that it applies to ILLEGAL immigrants. For who claims to love someone, and breaks into their home without consent?!
