Bad acting, poor special effects, several scenes are just unbelievable, the men are all evil or incompetent cowards (I enjoy strong women, but there is no reason to make all of the men so unlikable to have that), several small pointless inconsistencies with the original series. Feels like a very amateur attempt. They could have done SO much better.
So the premise for this was already pretty well known, let's make a prequel and show what happened when they first found the Stargate.
The whole thing seems like a college project. The acting is amateur, the story is dull and corny. The effects aren't even that good.
To me this looks like one thing and that's a way for them to cash in on a popular franchise.
If your a fan you will watch this anyway and no doubt be disappointed but if your not and just planned watching it anyway then save your time. A real let down, the 2 stars is me being generous and I give it mainly for the music.

- TriviaKelly Vint Castro (American Agent) previously played the young Catherine Langford in Stargate (1994).
- GoofsCatherine goes from not being able to speak at all with the natives on the planet to being almost fluent at it couple episodes later. Even assuming that she's a fast learner it's questionable that she has any previous knowledge of ancient Egyptian languages, otherwise she would have understood at least some words when first talking to Kasuf. However, Daniel experienced the same effect in the first movie. It was because the vowels were pronounced differently than he realized. It was a language nobody had spoken in over 2000 years.

Captain James Beal: Metal?
Catherine Langford: Most archaeological finds from this periods are stone, but not this one. My father believes it's melted meteorite.
Captain James Beal: Ten years of research and you're still not sure.
Catherine Langford: These things take time. And no more money means no more research. Not here, at least.
Captain James Beal: Well, I'm grateful for the mystery.Otherwise, our chance encounter at the market may have never come to pass.
Catherine Langford: That would have been tragic.
