Sex & Nudity

  • A man walks down the halls baring his naked butt.
  • A man gives oral sex to another man. Not explicit or graphic, but we can see the movement.
  • Male testicles are seen several times and male genitals are easy to distinguish through thin clothing materials. female breasts and partly female butts are shown as well.
  • A guy takes a look at another guy's buttocks while showering, saying he was looking at his scar.
  • A man gets caught masturbating by his partner in the shower.
  • Season 4 is alot more graphic in terms of sexual content, there is a lot more than there was in the other seasons.

Violence & Gore

  • Fight scenes involve scuffles and punches.
  • The show includes some graphical details of violence like fights, murders... where blood really stands out.
  • A murder anchors much of the plot, and we see a teen girl as a dead body, with the camera lingering on her face and pouty lips. Teen boys scuffle and punch each other at a party; sexual situations are iffy (a girl seduces a boy so her boyfriend can secretly watch; two teens conspire to entice a "virginal Muslim girl" into having sex).

  • Language is in Spanish, subtitled, and cursing includes "s--t," "f--king," "f--k," "hell," "ass," "a--hole," "dick." Teens flip each other the bird. Language may also have a gendered aspect that bilingual or sharp listeners will pick up on, like when one character jokingly calls another "hijo de puta" literally "son of a prostitute" but translated as "son of a bitch."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Teens guzzle champagne and beer and get sloppy at a party.
  • Drinking throughout each season.
  • Many characters habitually smoke cigarettes.
  • Lots of drug dealing takes place across the series. Cocaine is taken by multiple characters in S2 and S3
  • Multiple characters overdose on various drugs throughout the show.
  • A large stash of cocaine is discovered, two teenagers decide to make a business out of it by dealing it at school.
  • One character abuses his medication for anxiety. He ends up almost drowning due to an overdose.
  • Heavy partying and drug use in Season 5 especially. (Severe)
  • Many characters habitually smoke cigarettes. Teens buy hashish from a dealer, learn to roll it into a cigarette by watching an online video, and then smoke it. At a party thrown by a girl's parents, teens guzzle champagne and beer and get sloppy; one vomits on another character and then makes a chancy sexual decision.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Murder and assault are common themes throughout the entire series.
