Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood's golden age.
Of all the actors in the film, the one who was most familiar with the Hollywood of the day was Kurt Russell. In addition to his years as a child actor in films and guest starring on TV shows in the 1950s and 1960s, his father Bing Russell had also spent many years guest starring on shows, as well as being playing a repeating role as a deputy sheriff in Bonanza (1959). Bing was an actor who was never lucky enough to have his own series like Rick Dalton but he found his niche and hung in there, largely in roles as film extras. This makes Kurt Russell the ideal person to cast as the narrator of this film. See more »
