Shamantakamani is an average crime comedy with dull first half but good comedy in parts.
Rarely we get to see many young stars coming together in a Telugu film these days. So, when the movie in the combination of Sudheer Babu, Nara Rohith, Sundeep Kishan and Aadhi Saikumar as lead heroes was announced, the film raised expectations. The trailer was also interesting. The director's first movie was a hit. So, "Shamanthakamani" had everything to go for it.
The story of the film is based on an expensive car called Samantkamani which is owned by Krishna(Sudheer Babu). One fine day, the car is stolen from a rich hot spot in Hyderabad and a corrupt cop(Nara Rohit) is given the responsibility of nabbing the criminals.During his investigation, Rohit finds out that a small time crook(Sundeep Kishan), a young lover(Aadi) and a mechanic(Rajendra Prasad) are involved in the case. Rest of the story showcases as to who has robbed Samantakamani and what happens to them during the end.
1)Comedy: The comedy is generated with constable Raghu's character when they narrate their stories. Comedian Raghu steals the show literally.Satyam Rajesh's expressions in CCTV footage are hilarious
2)Second half: It is engaging when compared to boring first half.
1)Plot: If we compare this with his first movie, "Shamanthakamani" falls flat. This movie has predictable twists.
2)First half: After starting the film on an interesting note, director Sriram Aditya goes into every character's flashback and their stories. It is so bad and take away the interest of the viewer to know what happened to the car.
So,Shamantakamani is an average crime comedy with dull first half but good comedy in parts.
