- TriviaAlthough the legal proceedings were not shown in the case, the judge of Arne Cheyenne Johnson's trial rejected the defense plea of not guilty by demonic possession stating that such a defense would be impossible to prove, also stating it would be "irrelative and unscientific" to allow testimony in support of the possession defense . The jury were not legally allowed to consider the demonic possession defense and Johnson's lawyer then instead argued self defense. Johnson was found guilty of first degree manslaughter on November 24, 1981. Johnson was sentenced to 10 - 20 years in jail but only served 5 due to good behavior, he and Debbie Glatzel married while he was in prison and remained so until her death from cancer shortly before the films release.
- GoofsWhen Ed had his heart attack the doctor told then they have to put a stent into the artery. Doctors were not placing stents, much less balloon angiography in 1981. The treatment would've been major open heart by-pass surgery.
- Quotes
Arne Cheyenne Johnson: Being brave doesn't mean you're not scared. It means you are scared but you hang in there.
- Crazy creditsDuring the closing credits, there is a news interview with the real Ed & Lorraine Warren from during the trial, along with photos of scenes from the movie and dialog from an audio recording of David Glatzel's exorcism.
- Alternate versionsFor the British theatrical version a suicide scene was cut to secure a "15" rating. The 18 rated uncut version was released on 4K Ultra HD with the DVD and Blu ray only having the 15 rated UK edit

Change the director for the next part please.
Least scariest out of whole conjuring universe.
Story line was fine, first half an hour was great, makes you hopeful, ending wasn't.
The movie is directed by the same director who directed The curse of La Llarona, I don't like it very much. Bring James Wan back, let him do his magic for the next part.
We love this franchise, therefore our expectations are always high. Don't disappoint us next time.
