Inspired by an actual event, The Jar is the story of a man who returns to his childhood home and ends up confronting the horror responsible for his estrangement from his parents. Following their death, Nick Draper, a successful businessman, returns to his parents' house to dispose of their belongings and to sell the house. Contrary to his plan, he finds the horror he thought had been removed was still there - in a jar. In flashbacks of his childhood, Nick relives those defining events and undergoes a catharsis, absolving himself from the guilt he has carried since his childhood. He destroys the jar, the embodiment of his guilt, an act he never had the courage to do as a child.
