West tells Dr. Smith that the rocks in the terrain are sharp and would cut through her normal shoes quickly (thus convincing her to wear the dead person's boots). To illustrate his point, West takes some dirt into his hands, and his fingers start bleeding as he rolls the dirt between his fingers.

However, the chicken apparently has no problem walking around on the sharp stones, as when West picks it up later, you can see its feet are fine. The chicken has been moving around on the terrain, so if what West said was true about how sharp everything was, it's doubtful the chicken would have escaped unharmed. See more »

Less Soap Opera More Character Unveiling
15 April 2018 | by GunnersMateSee all my reviews

While the first episode was heavy-loaded with backstory, this second installment spends more time looking at who our characters are here and now and how this is reflected in how they are responding to their current crisis. The soap opera feel has been minimized with the survival story taking front and center - which is a good thing. This is a solid outing, which leaves us wanting more as we anticipate seeing all of our known characters of the past (while now different in appearances and motivations but retaining the same basic character cores) finally come together.
