He tries warning the ship that the conditions are not acceptable for takeoffs, but an inexperienced pilot does his takeoff before the ship can abort it. The plane falls into the water and the moving carrier cannot steer clear of it in time, sinking it.

A man is tied to a ship anchor and thrown into the ocean (it is implied he drowns to death).
