For three years, as part of the anonymous relocation of the former 'Quantico team', Alex enjoyed a simple family life in Tuscany (Italy) with wine grower Luciano and his doting daughter Isabella. Now killers suddenly appear in the night, which she can overpower, but it's time to move on. Picking up her emergency stash in a Swiss bank, she bumps into Ryan, whom she left clueless, finding he happily married Shelby. Both ex-lovers accept a call to return to New York, where Shelby was kidnapped by arms dealer 'the Widow', who demands for her liberation a terrible weapon. A team is(re)assembled, including CIA-promoted Owen and Harry, who dumps his bizarre job as overqualified minder of the crazy brother of British contraband tycoon Pillay, in whose name their undercover will bid at the widow' auction, Will is found on her team. The Conscience Code
7 July 2018 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Series 3 does not start out with a bang with another terrorist attack. Instead you see Alex living a blissful life in Italy. A family life but it is not with Ryan.

However danger is not far away, her new love is unaware that trouble always follows Alex.

Before long Alex has reunited with Ryan who tells her that Shelby has been kidnapped by someone called the Widow who wants the code that only Alex knows. Ryan also drops the bombshell that he and Shelby are now married.

The opener did come across like a routine rescue mission with no criss crossing timelines. It was also a standalone episode that leads to the set up of a new black ops team that Owen will be managing.
