Trivia

The army coat Sally wears in the scene where she practices her lines with her agent is similar to the one Robert De Niro wears in Taxi Driver (1976), a film that inspired the idea for this show. See more »

Quotes

Detective Janice Moss: Look at you. You are so little. I could rock you like a baby.
Gene Cousineau: I would like you to rock me like a baby.
Detective Janice Moss: I could drop kick you in the middle of the restaurant. Everybody would applaud and then I'd beat the fuck out of you.
Gene Cousineau: And I would let you do it.

Barry

Hader and Berg are just goofing around. But sort of like professionals do, when they are so confident in their malleable world and three dimensional character. And with this silly ideas thrown left and right, comes a responsibility to own those bizarre twists and turns, and sensible one liners. Bill Hader, the co-creator, of the series is also in front of the screen procrastinating his doom to face the intense close calls, thought provoking moral dilemmas and well acting. What could have gone easily wrong is easily its finest asset.

The arc of Hader, from being a non-performer to stay that way is a whole new element that we get to encounter in each season with our non-blinking eyes and jaw-dropping face. Alec Berg, the co-creator, deserves the same respect, with his experience on keeping things on the ground as soon as Hader starts hovering, this mixture of black and white, and colorful genre makes them a great duo. They aren't short in performance yet, with Henry Winkler's warm hugs to Stephen Root's schemy grins, this cast stages a piece of their life with levity.

Hader, being a massive movie goer, brims his world with hilarious references and disenchanting derailments he captured from being an avid viewer. Another reason why this makes it one of the best idea to make this run for a longer period, is the simplicity of the plot, it spreads humor like butter on a toast but with an action twist, Hader and Berg gets plenty of room to stretch their muscles where no idea is or will ever be effortfully hokum. Barry is quite the assassin, he flinches and thinks twice before pulling the trigger but pours his heart out while confessing to the floating souls around him- it looks like there is a lot of Hader in him.

Chapter Four: Commit.. to YOU

Winkler's confidence, Goldberg's resistance and Hader's unconsciousness blending in for a date or a party, these social conventions ought to get crazy. Now Winkler's kind of crazy that he cannot only tame it but also sparks it- by the way Jon Hamm, whew.
