At the end, Amy tells the couple running the hotel, that she is going to take the evil entity home with her, and Steve confirms that "as of tonight" they won't be affected by it any longer. Yet, before the end credits roll, a placard says that they have decided to sell the place and "the activity continues". Amy is never asked what happened to her offer of removing the negative ghoul.
