Djam, a free-spirited young woman from Lésvos, Greece, adopts a mission to Istanbul at the request of her uncle, Kakourgos, who tasks her with procuring a rare engine part for their boat, the Aman Doctor. The road trip soon transforms into a journey of self-discovery and unexpected connections. On her path, Djam meets Avril, a lost French woman struggling with her own challenges. Together, they navigate cultural contrasts, form a deep bond, and confront the harsh realities of Europe's economic and refugee crises. Throughout the film, rembetiko serves as a bridge between cultures, blending Greek and Turkish traditions, and highlighting the shared heritage of the Mediterranean. For Djam, the music is deeply personal, symbolizing her connection to her roots and her free-spirited nature.
