Old school magic meets the modern world in this epic adventure. Alex (Louis Ashbourne Serkis) thinks he's just another nobody, until he stumbles upon the mythical sword in the stone, Excalibur. Now, he must unite his friends and enemies into a band of knights and, together with the legendary wizard Merlin (Sir Patrick Stewart), take on the wicked enchantress Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson). With the future at stake, Alex must become the great leader he never dreamed he could be.
The Stonehenge Tour Guide is played by Adam Buxton who has been the comedy partner of writer/director Joe Cornish since the 1990s when they created and hosted The Adam and Joe Show (1996) together. See more »
Goofs
When Alex is fighting Lance in the lake, he falls into the water and completely submerges. Immediately after Lance walks away, Alex takes his King Arthur book out of the back pack he is wearing and it is completely dry, despite the backpack being an ordinary school bag and not waterproof. When Alex falls (0:58:02 to 0:58:35) he falls on his stomach and the top of the backpack remains out of the water. Moreover, at 1:01:29, Bedders suddenly exclaims "We're dry!" Presumably, the "magic powers" could keep the book dry if need be. See more »
Quotes

[The kids are sitting in a line, shivering]
We should huddle together to keep warm.
Lance:
I'm not huddling anybody. I don't huddle.
[Scene cuts to them huddling together]

Cute and funny, and surprisingly enjoyable, despite being a movie ultimately for kids.
Some of the humour is very forced, but most of it is actually quite enjoyable.
The best part is the acting. Every single actor is perfect for their role! This is even more surprising is that they're good child actors, which is rare.
So if you're in the mood and have kids, give this one a go. It's pretty good.
