- Thursday's response on Morse' question, if something came up
Casablanca (1942)
The first line of the segment is "Here's looking at you", borrowed from Humphrey Bogart and here uttered by Fred Thursday to his wife just before they start their exhibition tango.Goldfinger (1964)
Morse's reason for not collecting Thursday - "Something came up" - is a very slight paraphrase of James Bond's reason for cancelling his dinner date with Felix Leiter in the 1964 film. In both cases, the excuse is a slightly salacious pun, as the real reason is that our hero has been in bed with a girl. The Likely Lads (TV Series 1964–1966)

The Creighton-Ward family also references that of Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward.
