A little more entertaining but overall uneventful
21 January 2019 | by jnjcomberSee all my reviews

The opening scene was terribly flat and awkward. The music was badly chosen and for what should have been a dramatic moment, had little impact.

It would have done better as a surprise ending for episode 3.

But with that out of the way I must say I preferred the writing and directing in this episode. Everything felt a little more charamatic and dynamic. However it wasn't enough to carry the plot.

I finish this episode thinking how nothing much happened and again Luke seems to be sidelined at the moment. I don't have a problem with side characters and plot lines, but there are so many that it barely feels like a show about Luke Cage.

Misty and Luke are quite fun to watch together so I hope we see more of that, (although I'm beginning to think that Simone Missick/Misty is just very capable of carrying a scene).

There was an extremely long and tedious on-screen performance yet again. The first season got praised for its music but they're just overdoing it now.

There are quite a few long scenes where nothing seems to happen. Even if the scene itself is fine, I can't help but wonder afterward how it affected the plot in anyway.

Overall, even though the plot was a bit flat, the writer and director managed to make it watchable, but not all that entertaining
