Trivia

The elephants featured in this film are African. You'll notice that the Matriarch, Athena has magnificent tusks. Later in the film you'll see Satao, a bull (male) elephant, also with the biggest tusks you might ever see. One of the key differences between African and Asian elephants is the tusks. ALL African elephants, male and female, have tusks whereas only SOME Asian males have tusks. About 50% of Asian females have short tusks known as "tushes". See more »

Good overall, but annoying sound effects
1 December 2019 | by e-bentlySee all my reviews

Overall this was good, narration was really good and so to was the photography. The one bit I did find annoying, which detracted from the documentary som what was some of the dumb sound effects e.g. helicopter sounds when following a beetle flying, or the 1950 sound effect of punching added to beetles fighting. To me, it was totally unnecessary.
