Wael (Kheiron) a former street child, makes a living from small scams with his adoptive mother and partner-in-crime Monique (Catherine Deneuve). To find the six teenagers, Kheiron appealed to Adelaïde Mauvernay, casting director. His first instruction was that he did not want actors, but teens from the "real life". Suddenly, they first considered a wild cast that proved to be a process too long, complicated to implement and inefficient because the roles of the little ones are very technical for non-comedians. Very french, slightly impossible. romantic plot but enjoyable and well made.
Decent movie, lacks a little of realism and specifics in the story but then again it doesn't aim to be that kind of movie.
Overall delivers his message well.
