Was there a point to the storyline...?

When I stumbled upon the 2017 Japanese action horror movie "Ashura Gâru: Blood-C Iken" (aka "Asura Girl: A Blood-C Tale"), of course I had to watch it, given my fascination with the Asian cinema. I had never actually heard about the movie, not that it really mattered, because it was an Asian movie. Plus, the movie's cover had a certain appeal to it as well.

However, I must say that writer Jun'ichi Fujisaku didn't really produce a script or storyline that had much appeal to me. The events that took place on the screen were mediocre at best, and I had to admit that my attention span was slowly drifting away from the movie, as the narrative progressed.

I am not familiar with the Anime series from writers Nanase Ôkawa and Jun'ichi Fujisaku, upon which this 2017 live action movie is based. So how true it is to Clamp's original source material, I have no idea. But if it is true to it, I can honestly say that I am not going to bother with the Anime, because this 2017 movie was rubbish.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble either, aside from a single actor, but I can't recall his name. However, from what I saw on the screen, I was by no means impressed.

"Ashura Gâru: Blood-C Iken" feels like something that would cater to a very distinct and niche group of audience members. Upon which I am not a part, and thus I found no enjoyment in the movie.

My rating of director Shûtarô Oku's 2017 movie "Ashura Gâru: Blood-C Iken" lands on a very generous three out of ten stars.
