A Disturbing Reality
29 April 2019 | by Elijah_TSee all my reviews

A rather disturbing documentary on what goes on in the lives of people caught in the world of violent groups--gang members, federal police, and regular civilians. It consists entirely of interviews. Not a single graphic image is shown, and yet none are needed. The people who tell their stories do so without consideration or apology for how the audience may feel about a world they may or may not have ever known existed.

By time Devil's Freedom got to its second half, around 20% of the audience had walked out of the theater.
