Starts off promising but then gets ridiculous and stays ridiculous
2 October 2017 | by DennisBergkamp10See all my reviews

Someone recommended me that the movie Oru Cinemakkaran is pretty good. That's the last time I am taking movie recommendations from that person. Other than the fact that Vineeth Sreenivasan is a wannabe director in the movie, the plot has very little to do with Cinema. Malayalam Cinema needs to get smarter with naming movies. They have to stop getting their movies named by 6 year olds. Its like they get a 6 year old to blindly pick words from a nursery rhymes book.

I really have to stop watching movies that star Vineeth Sreenivasan as the solo lead. Aby was an excruciating watch. This one is mind-numbing stupid. There is this one scene in which Vineeth Sreenivasan is rushing to the bank to withdraw his wife's gold from the locker when his bike breaks down and he is seen running helter-skelter in panic drenched in sweat and on the verge of breaking down. The scene apparently is meant to make the viewer empathize with Vineeths plight. You have a mobile phone with you you braindead moron. Why don't you call up the bank and let them know that you are on the way? The movie starts of promising coz there is Renji Panicker. Unfortunately thats the last we see of him till the very end. Its like the Malayalam film industry is using Renji Panicker as bait to bring audiences to the theatre.

Vineeth Sreenivasan needs a 100,000Rs. Now he could have easily asked his father for the measly sum. Or he could have just asked his super rich father-in-law. But he arrives at the conclusion that the easiest way to get 1 lac Rs would be to steal it. That's where the amazing twist happens in the story and the movie enters Villeneuvesque territory. Thats sarcasm. I doubt the director can spell, Villeneuve. Even I couldn't........I had to google it.

The guy who plays the cop was once a very promising actor in Bollywood. Then he just let himself go. From his acting you cannot figure out whether he gets that this is a serious movie. He acts like he is convinced that this is a parody movie.

It is a very stupid movie with an absurd plot. The movie has no redeeming features whatsoever.

Better avoid. I couldn't. You should.
