A provocative and exciting political thriller.
24 January 2018 | by isabell-92204See all my reviews

Revolutionszelle comes to offer a visionary outlook into a very near and highly possible future, based on the idea than inequality and corruption keeps rising at alarming rates, reaching a point where the people are left to rely on anarchic underground groups to earn their justice and re establish a world wide equilibrium. We are following the story of Daniel, who decides to join such an online illegal group in his pursue to revenge his carer collapse due to the rise of wealth gap and the further sinking of the opportunities for the upper middle class people and their businesses.

The core idea and set up of this suspenseful and provocative political thriller, finds its roots in the highly relevant and extremely thought provoking socio-politico context of our present times. More and more we are to learn that the corrupt and super rich few have managed to highjack democracy and use it only to serve their own purpose and ironically against its essence and importance, which is to regulate and impede the imbalance of wealth and unevenness in opportunities.

Revolutionszelle offers its own suggestion of how things might turn out once this situations gets out of control and manages to raises significant questions through the journey of its main character David, such as how would anyone react to this type of world wide scale political shifts and how far would we be able to go in order to fight it. Will we chose our humanity or our freedom?

Wonderful and dynamic archive video footage, is skilfully incorporated in many parts of this mind stimulating film, leading to the injection of a good dose of reality in the construction of the anarchic context backing the whole narrative. Daniel's choice is not an easy one, but at the end he made his one. And it raises even more intriguing questions as we learn that thousands other people did also made their choices, in one of the highest organised crimes of the future modern times.
