Good insight into an oppressive system
19 May 2018 | by Sebastien02See all my reviews

I enjoyed watching this movie, which is based on a true story. The good acting and several twists kept my attention until the end. The director cleverly uses some tear-jerking effects, as he does during the church sequence with Jonas Dassler. Regarding what happens to these young people, we understand that living in East Germany at that time was not a bed of roses. In contrast, West Germany is a bit idealized. The values of solidarity and fraternity conveyed by these young adults sound quite universal.
