Here’s How The Boys Star Could Look As The McU’s Jean Grey

Here’s How The Boys Star Could Look As The McU’s Jean Grey
A lot of fans would be in agreement that when Marvel Studios get around to rebooting the X-Men and introducing them into their shared cinematic universe, two things they’d be better off leaving out entirely are Wolverine and an adaptation of the Phoenix Saga. After all, stepping into Hugh Jackman’s shoes as the iconic mutant is an almost impossible task, while Fox managed to botch the beloved comic book storyline twice in The Last Stand and Dark Phoenix, the latter of which is widely regarded as the worst X-Men movie ever.

However, in a coincidental twist of fate, two stars of Amazon’s smash hit superhero show The Boys have found themselves linked to Wolverine and Phoenix, respectively. Homelander actor Antony Starr admitted that he’d love to be the next Logan, while his co-star Aya Cash fancied a change from the psychopathic Stormfront and revealed that she wanted to be Jean Grey,

A Classic Marvel Movie Is Dominating Disney Plus Today

A Classic Marvel Movie Is Dominating Disney Plus Today
A classic Marvel movie is dominating Disney Plus today following its debut on the streaming service on Friday. The film in question is none other than 2003’s X2, the second entry in Fox’s X-franchise, which is still regarded as probably the best of the whole lot all these years later, with the possible exception of 2017’s Logan. Subscribers are certainly loving it, too, as it’s sitting at #6 on the site’s Top 10 Movies chart this Sunday.

X2 – or X-Men 2, as it’s known in other territories – flips the script from the first outing by forcing the X-Men to work together with their mortal enemies, Magneto (Ian McKellen) and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), after a mutual threat arises when General William Stryker (Brian Cox), the man who made Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), plans to use a brainwashed Professor X (Patrick Stewart) to wipe out mutantkind across the globe. Famke Janssen,

Disney Plus Just Added Another Great Marvel Movie

Disney Plus Just Added Another Great Marvel Movie
As you’d expect from any franchise with an incredibly convoluted timeline that spans sequels, reboots, spinoffs and sequels to those sequels, reboots and spinoffs, the consistency of Fox’s X-Men series fluctuated wildly over the course of 20 years. The New Mutants was recently dumped into theaters to very little fanfare and had to fend off accusations that it was the worst installment yet, a title that surely still belongs to the awful Dark Phoenix, but at the other end of the rankings, there are only a handful of films that can stake a claim to being called the best.

For most people, Logan is the single finest X-Men movie ever made, but there’s also a lot of love for Matthew Vaughn’s prequel First Class and Bryan Singer’s successfully ambitious Days of Future Past. Speaking of stronger entries in the franchise, having slowly been adding more and

The Boys Star Would Love To Be One Of The McU’s X-Men

The Boys Star Would Love To Be One Of The McU’s X-Men
After The Boys‘ Antony Starr admitted that he’d love to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s rebooted version of Wolverine, fan art imagining how the actor could look in the role quickly appeared online, so it stands to reason that the same will happen now that his onscreen love interest has also thrown her hat into the ring by revealing that she’d like to suit up as one of the comic book mutants as well.

Starr’s Homelander might be a megalomaniacal and despicable villain under his clean cut All-American exterior, but he pales in comparison to Aya Cash’s Stormfront, who has proven to be a most welcome addition to the cast of Amazon’s smash hit series. As well as featuring in one of the most bizarre sex scenes to be found on the small screen, Homelander and Stormfront have shown that they’re perfect for

The New Mutants DVD/Blu-ray Release Date and Special Features

The New Mutants DVD/Blu-ray Release Date and Special Features
The New Mutants will soon stream and spin at homes in the very-near future. While many speculated that this news would precede the recent move by studios Fox and Disney to release the film at theaters, it does signal the end of an era—especially for those of us who have spent the past 3+ years covering it—since the film will likely go down in history as having faced one of the hardest roads to a release, perhaps ever.

20th Century Fox will, at long last, release The New Mutants on Digital HD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, November 17. The Marvel Comics adaptation film, directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), who co-wrote the script with Knate Lee, became one of the few post Q1 2020 movies that saw a big screen release, having hit theaters on August 28; a run that currently tallies at $42 million worldwide, obviously impeded by the

‘355’ Trailer: Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Fan Bingbing, Penélope Cruz Take Over the Spy Genre
With the remaining 2020 release calendar all but wiped clear, aside from November’s “Soul” and a handful of December tentpoles, Universal Pictures is getting a jump on rolling out its 2021 slate by debuting the first trailer for its January spy thriller “355.” The project hails from longtime “X-Men” producer and writer Simon Kinberg, marking his directorial follow-up to “Dark Phoenix.” Theresa Rebeck, creator of the cult favorite NBC musical series “Smash,” wrote the script.

“355” originally exploded with buzz when it was announced at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival market with stars Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Fan Bingbing, Marion Cotillard, and Penelope Cruz attached to star. Universal jumped on the project in a deal reportedly worth $20 million. Diane Kruger eventually replaced Cotillard and supporting actors Sebastian Stan and Édgar Ramírez boarded the project to round out the cast. The film centers around a team of female spies from around the world who are

‘355’ Trailer: Jessica Chastain Leads An All-Star Spy Team With Penélope Cruz, Lupita Nyong’o & More
During the making of “X-Men: Dark Phoenix,” actor Jessica Chastain proposed an idea to director Simon Kinberg: what about a female-led spy film in the same spirit as the “Mission: Impossible” and “James Bond”? It didn’t take long for the idea to take hold, Kinberg agreeing to direct, Chastain to star and produce, and to grab many of her famous friends to star in the movie.

Jennifer Lawrence In X-Men: 10 Reasons She's The Best Version Of Mystique

Jennifer Lawrence In X-Men: 10 Reasons She's The Best Version Of Mystique
When Fox decided to reboot its X-Men franchise, it did something unique. They didn't restart everything but instead went back in time to show how the X-Men started. This began with X-Men: First Class, directed by Matthew Vaughn, and then moved on through the decades with Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix.

However, while Fox chose to keep the original trilogy intact and even tied them together in the Days of Future Past movie, it made some staggering changes to some characters. The one character taking the biggest change was Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, a subservient lackey to the older Magneto in the original trilogy but was a member of the X-Men who was around the same age as the Master of Magnetism in the new movies.

James McAvoy, Claire Foy Star in Remake of ‘My Son’ Thriller for STXfilms

James McAvoy, Claire Foy Star in Remake of ‘My Son’ Thriller for STXfilms
James McAvoy and Claire Foy will star in the upcoming English-language remake of the French thriller “My Son.” STXfilms has bought the worldwide rights to the film.

McAvoy will portray a man whose only son goes missing, leading to him travel to the town where his ex-wife (Foy) lives in search of answers. To play a man whose life is clouded by mystery, McAvoy will not be given a script or dialogue, so his character will only be aware of basic aspects of his story, and he will have to improvise and react to each moment as it unfolds. The rest of the cast and crew will be aware of the scenes.

The original film was released in 2017 with Christian Carion directing and Guillaume Canet starring in McAvoy’s role an absentee father searching for his kidnapped son in the mountains of southeast France. Carion has been attached to direct the English-language version,

Tye Sheridan talks his future as Cyclops
Despite appearing in some of the lesser X-men films, Tye Sheridan proved to be a pretty capable Cyclops. In X-men: Apocalypse he wasn't given a ton to do but he showed promise and even though Dark Phoenix was dismal, Sheridan showed growth from film to film. With the Disney/Fox merger, the X-Men rights have gone to Marvel Studios and the belief is that Kevin Feige and company will recast the entire…

X-Men: 5 Things The Prequel Movies Got Right (& 5 They Got Wrong)

X-Men: 5 Things The Prequel Movies Got Right (& 5 They Got Wrong)
After the disappointment of X-Men: The Last Stand, Fox executives needed a way to continue bringing Marvel’s profitable mutant characters to the big screen without reminding audiences of what a huge screw-up the last movie was. So, they hired Matthew Vaughn to do a soft reboot of the franchise with a ‘60s-set prequel, X-Men: First Class, starring younger versions of the characters.

These younger iterations of the X-Men returned in three more movies — Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix – before the Disney merger put the franchise out of its misery. The prequel movies weren’t all abject failures, but there was little to love in them.

Former X-Men Star Says He’d Love To Return For McU Reboot

Former X-Men Star Says He’d Love To Return For McU Reboot
If your only knowledge of the X-Men came from the Fox franchise that ran for two decades before concluding in disappointing fashion when The New Mutants finally landed in theaters with a thud earlier this year, then you’d be forgiven for being completely unaware that Cyclops is the strong and determined leader of the team, as well as one of the most influential characters in comic book history.

Across a dozen movies, Scott Summers was never really given anything important to do, with James Marsden generally shunted into the background as Wolverine’s love rival and Tye Sheridan’s younger version largely existing as a plot device to further Jean Grey’s arc. Fans will be hoping that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming reboot will finally do Cyclops justice on the big screen, then, after watching him spend two decades relegated to a supporting role.

2067 Trailer: Kodi Smit-McPhee & Ryan Kwanten Are Fighting for the Future

2067 Trailer: Kodi Smit-McPhee & Ryan Kwanten Are Fighting for the Future
We have a new trailer for 2067. This is the latest from Seth Larney, a visual effects artist who has branched out to directing in recent years. In this case, Larney is tackling a sci-fi epic led by Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ryan Kwanten. As we can see from the trailer, Larney has painted a visually impressive but bleak view of the future.

The trailer opens up by giving us a sense of the world nearly 50 years from now. Humanity is running low on oxygen. People are dying and it all seems rather dire. But then our pair of lead characters played by Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ryan Kwanten are presented with an opportunity that might be able to save the planet. To do so, a daring mission involving time travel unfolds. Things don't go as planned and, as one might expect, traversing time has consequences.

For what is presumably a relatively low-budget movie,

The Boys Season 2: Who Is Blindspot?

The Boys Season 2: Who Is Blindspot?
It’s fair to say that Chris Mark didn’t have a whole lot to do in The Boys’ Season 2 as Blindspot! At least, it doesn’t look like we’ll see him pop up again any time soon.

Mark is a prolific and respected stunt performer and fight choreographer, who you’ve probably already seen in a bunch of things to date. Though the Canadian actor’s speaking roles are less common, he recently appeared as Yuuto Murakami in Netflix’s October Faction and as Bruce Lee in Hulu’s Future Man, but it’s as a stuntman that he’s notched up most of his credits in the likes of Suicide Squad, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Pacific Rim and Star Trek Beyond.

In The Boys’ second season premiere, “The Big Ride”, Mark plays the show’s riff on Marvel’s Daredevil, Blindspot. The young man is clearly extremely agile and talented,
