-The story of an unimaginable injustice. The story of a man forced to remain in prison after serving his sentence for the sole reason that he still refuses to acknowledge his crime. This American inmate receives the unfailing support of a French chaplain. Together, they attempt to overcome the inconsistencies of the U.S. prison system. Better still, behind bars, they will put in place a strategy to curb recidivism.
-Severino Diaz, (64 years old), spent 23 years in Rikers Island prison, New York (USA). Ironically, he could get out if he admitted his guilt. But Severino refuses to lie that he committed murder. He is regularly visited by Sister Simone and Pierre Raphaël, the prison's French chaplain. We follow their unfailing friendship over twelve years.
