In Rebecca realizing that she has entered the same obsessive pattern with Nathaniel as she did with Josh leading to her breaking up with him, Dr. Shin encourages Rebecca to transfer her energies and her resulting free time into volunteer work, which may end up in her finding some true passion in life. Rebecca's less than altruistic motives in that volunteering take a turn when she feels that her recent experiences can help save someone emotionally. In deciding what to do about this specific situation, she knows that she may also be hurting a friend yet again if she does decide to help that other someone. Meanwhile, Darryl learns of a risky way potentially to make a lot of money to purchase another expensive egg for the surrogacy, that risk which is only increased with crafty Mrs. Hernandez involved.
