Trivia

An entire mock underwear campaign featuring Carloto Cotta was created and images were used in the film itself and in the marketing campaign. It is a satirical representation of the numerous underwear photo-shoots done by Cristian Ronaldo and Carloto Cotta similarly appears in tight white underwear with muscles flexed, oiled and glistening for the camera. The film-makers said they had a lot of fun making all these fake ad campaigns and also created a lot of Diamantino swag like jerseys, bed-sheets, portraits etc to represent the narcissism and commercialization of a famous sport star. Painfully embarrasing!
13 November 2018 | by palovyperSee all my reviews

This is truly a unique film. Although unique in this case doesn't mean either interesting or good.

If films where pointless absurdities and narrative are completely out of sync is your thing, then you'll like this sci-fi/political thriller/football flick.

The acting is beyond awkward but what's even more insulting is how this work trivializes and makes petty fun of real issues like the refugee crisis, the rise of right-wing nationalism, gender transformation (which here is described as "disturbing") as well as homophobic abuse. Simply awful.
