The script centers on two policemen, one an old-timer (Gibson), the other his volatile younger partner (Vaughn), who find themselves suspended when a video of their strong-arm tactics become the media's cause du jour. Low on cash and with no other options, these two embittered soldiers descend into the criminal underworld to gain their just due, but instead find far more than they wanted awaiting them in the shadows.

For a lot of years I believed that the quality of my work, what we do together, what I did with my previous partners... would get me what I deserved. But I don't politic and I don't change with the times, and it turns out that shit's more important than good honest work. So yesterday, after we stop a massive among of drugs from getting into the school system, we get suspended because we didn't do it politely.

What was Mel Gibson thinking when he accepted the role ? This is one of the worst movies i've ever seen and Gibson's worst. No action, much unnecessary violence, an ending that almost made me destroy the TV. Extremely boring.
