Storyline

It's 9th century Sweden. The daughters of a powerful Viking warlord named King Harald, are kidnapped by his old enemy Sigthorr the Blood Axe. Sigthorr is seeking revenge for a betrayal that happened years earlier. During their dangerous journey through rugged frozen terrain and dangerous snow drifts; and accompanied by the most dangerous vikings of that time, Freydis the eldest must not only save her life and that of her little sister Astrid, but also uncover the horrible truth about her father's past, while facing the danger he inflicted on all the villages in the region. | Trivia | During the design production of Dead Man's Mound, the producer strives to use craftsmen of the absolute top tier in their respective fields. The production has employed people with a multitude of disciplines, such as blacksmiths, wood carvers, cobblers, tailors and bowyers to name a few. The goal is to use as much materials and colors typical of the 900's Viking era with regard to fabrics, wood and leather, to craft props such as chain mail, helmets, weapons, chests, buildings, ships and clothing. Additionally, everything created for Dead Man's Mound is to be made locally for the authenticity, and in doing so, intentionally creating the smallest environmental footprint. When it comes to the people behind the camera however, the producer has been more inclusive, and utilizes a wide ethnic diversity, as well as a balance between gender.
