Terminator: Dark Fate - Gabriel Luna on Becoming the Rev 9

Michael Ahr Jul 19, 2019

There will be a new model of Terminator in Terminator: Dark Fate, and Gabriel Luna shares the Rev 9’s best features.

Although the new “Rev 9” Terminator in Terminator: Dark Fate will rely heavily on CGI, especially when it takes liquid metal form like a T-1000, Gabriel Luna will bring the intimidating new enemy to life and build on the legacy established by both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robert Patrick in the first two movies. But when asked about the new model of automated assassin at San Diego Comic Con, Luna responded with the enthusiasm and expertise of a man who knows the technology of the future almost as well as the role itself.

“The Rev 9 is the latest in anti-personnel technology,” Luna told us on the press line, winding up his sales pitch like a Security Concepts executive in Robocop. “And the beautiful thing is we’ve incorporated

At the recent “Terminator: Dark Fate” panel at San Diego Comic-Con, James Cameron dropped the bomb that Edward Furlong would appear in some capacity in the upcoming sequel. However, what wasn’t revealed is exactly how it will happen.

In the report yesterday, I postulated how we could see Furlong, who played the all-too-important John Connor in “T2,” show up as the character in ‘Dark Fate.’ Basically, it came down to one of two ways.

Yet, his next big adventure involves revisiting one of the movies that helped make him a global star in the first place, as he's finally giving us a sequel that has been more than three decades in the making.

Paramount Pictures decided to take advantage of the fact that quite a few studios are skipping out on Sdcc this year. So, they brought Terminator: Dark Fate and Top Gun 2 to the big show. "I hunt Terminators." Those three words define Sarah Connor's mission in life in Terminator: Dark Fate, and with the anticipated sequel enjoying a Hall H panel in San Diego, a new featurette and exciting news was revealed for fans of the franchise.

While he was unable to make the Hall H panel in person due to being in New Zealand while filming his upcoming Avatar movies, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Terminator: Dark Fate producer James Cameron did reveal via video that Edward Furlong would play John Connor in the new Terminator movie, marking the first time he's played the iconic role since 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day (of which Dark Fate is a direct sequel to).

‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Featurette Teases a Relentless Action Film

At Comic-Con yesterday, Paramount debuted a new featurette for Terminator: Dark Fate. Rather than a total reboot, Dark Fate is described as a sequel to James Cameron’s iconic 1991 follow-up Terminator 2: Judgment Day and finds Linda Hamilton reprising her role as Sarah Connor for the first time since that film. Arnold Schwarzenegger is also back as the T-800, with a story that takes the franchise in a new direction with new leads played by Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire), Natalia Reyes (Birds of Passage), Gabriel Luna (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), …

Arnold Schwarzenegger Blasts The PG-13 Terminator Movies

If there’s one thing that separates the first two installments in James Cameron’s Terminator from the rest of the sequels, it’s the fact that Terminator 1 and 2 had an R-rating. And according to Arnold Schwarzenegger, that’s what makes the originals significantly superior to the other parts of the franchise.

Recently, Paramount released a new featurette from the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate, where Arnold makes a return to the series along with Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong. The footage offered up a glimpse at a world that’s descended into chaos as a full-fledged war has apparently broken out between humans and machines.

During an Ama on Reddit, the Terminator team took the time to answer fan questions and drop a possible spoiler or two, and when someone asked Schwarzenegger about the new movie’s rating, he got a very detailed and emphatic response from the actor who has,

Why Audiences Are Only Going to Disney Movies

Why Audiences Are Only Going to Disney Movies
Julie Bikhman of Manhattan might buy the tickets, but when it comes to deciding what movie to see, her three young children are the ones calling the shots.

“We pick them,” her 11-year-old daughter Annie declares before heading into a screening of Disney’s live-action “The Lion King.”

“If it’s a Marvel movie, we know it’s going to be epic,” Annie’s twin sister Nina adds. “We know it will have a good story line and lots of action and adventure. Also, the villains are sick and there are a lot of plot twists.”

Annie and Nina weren’t born when audiences were first introduced to Disney’s “The Lion King” in 1994, but the two cajoled their mom and 14-year-old brother Nathaniel to AMC Lincoln Square on Wednesday to be among the first to see Simba’s grand return to the big screen. They loved the original cartoon

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 Has A Surprising Name In Terminator: Dark Fate

James Cameron, creator of the franchise and producer on this movie, hosted the Terminator: Dark Fate panel at Comic-Con today, meaning new info about the upcoming sixth Terminator movie, and third reboot, has come our way. Including the knowledge that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 has a very unexpected name in the film.

According to multiple sources who were in attendance during the panel, a full scene from Dark Fate was shown. This hasn’t been released online just yet, but thanks to hearsay we’ve got the gist of it. It consists of the cyborg coming out of his cabin and having a confrontation with Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor. As the one Terminator she trusted was destroyed at the end of T2, Sarah is dismissive when this apparently benign T-800 introduces himself as Carl.

Yup, Schwarzenegger’s new character in Dark Fate is named Carl. No offense to any Carls out there,
