No thousands of rounds of ammo
thehaglin4 April 2021
This is quite a good movie and it does have a decent script. It isn't a blockbuster but at least we could see what was going on. There was no dark scenes to hide bad.graphics, there wasn't an Arnie types shooting thousands of enemies who all could have killed him with one shot, there was no over rated actor on a salary of $15 million.

It was a genuine, good story with good actors. It was well filmed, well acted and a decent movie.

Background Noise Maker
yaagoub-nujaidi14 June 2020
Kind of film were you put it on TV just to make background noise while you are doing something else...

The director/writer forgot the 3rd assassin as he showed him in one scene and that is it. What happened to him? Only the writer knows.

Flip a coin to decide if the directing or writing was worse than the other
Top_Dawg_Critic12 June 2020
Ughh... 98 minutes of slow, dragged out and unnecessary scenes. Lame 80's action scenes/shots. Dumbed-down dialogue and storytelling. Plot and technical issues galore. Pacing slower than a snail. Was an editor even hired for this film? Typical B-grade overbearing and annoying score. Even the sound was off, as I had trouble making out some of the dialogue, particularly from Goss. Was he sleepwalking in this film? Stale acting from everyone - especially Goss, with the exception of Mandylor, who was the only one that didn't rely on the failed/omitted attempts by the director to direct the cast. Cinematography was decent, that's about it. This is the worst film Goss and Mandylor have been in, and that's even considering I wasn't expecting much to begin with. A 5th grade drama class could've put this together better. It's a generous 3/10 from me.

The definition of a bad B-Movie
This movie has the writing and acting of a 5 year old child playing with LEGO, and even then that is being nice. The acting on all fronts is atrocious and lack luster, their is not a single line that isn't cringe worthy in both writing and acting ability. The main characters story line is lost in a jumble of quick unreliable action, and the supplementary characters are there as fodder. So much of the movie is useless to the plot, and so many of the characters are killed off in worse ways than any 80's B- movie horror films. The movie as a whole is slow and drawn out. For a lacking in budget and writing film they could have made it up in editing which seems almost non-existent in this film. I feel sorry for every actor involved in this waste of time film, as it was more a waste of their time to partake in filming this than it was in me watching it.

2 stars is generous, and only because I didn't turn it off, but was easily distracted away from it.

A crushing bore
Leofwine_draca11 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
LEGACY is another cheap, generic, derivative B-movie action flick that's more like a Z-grade film than a B-movie of old. The plot is some nonsense about an imprisoned drug lord sending out an assasssin to take out his own adopted kid and the British secret agent trying to protect him. The only thing of note here is the presence of two veteran stars, Luke Goss and Louis Mandylor, both of whom have little to work with. Mandylor seems like a nice, warm-hearted guy and is the most realistic thing in this, while Goss seems to be playing a Bond-style character but is a complete dud. The action scenes are dull and disobey the laws of physics and the whole thing is a crushing bore to watch.

When will you be famous?
markthomassintek11 June 2020
REVIEW - LEGACY

When will I, will I be famous? I can't answer, I can't answer that.

Actually I can after watching this film.

A British Intelegence Agent has been trying to put a drug dealer behind bars, finally doing so but the drug dealer then orders the killing of his 2 sons.

His 2 sons were adopted.

Following so far? Good.

The drug dealer hires an assassin to kill the 2 sons because they prove with the testimony of their mother the crimes that were committed.

All sound good so far.

1 son is killed the other son goes on a hunting trip with his adopted father, where the British Agent finds them to protect them and the assassin finds them to kill them all.

Definitely sounds like a film to watch right?

Wrong!

No suspence what so ever, acting terrible especially by Luke Goes (Bros) and with the assassin, who apparently being a killer from such an early age and literally disposing of people he has killed in barrels of acid suddenly.........(no spoilers.

Full of cliche after cliche until you feel simply tired of them being force fed you.

Avoid this film as you did their song back in the 80's by Matt and Luke Goes" When will I be famous?" Because judging from this the answer will be never.

2 petty things before I rate this, when Luke Goes is fighting the assassin was there a solar eclipse? And why did the son suddenly have a terrible aim with his new bow and arrows, come on give us break, don't try to ramp up none existence suspens with something as stupid as this.

Not really so good.
jmcfarlane-0399713 August 2020
Not really worth a watch. I like Luke Goss, I really do. I think that he's a far better actor than this film shows. Not a good film, pretty awful acting all round from everyone in the film. Story very flimsy. Bad ending. Sorry but this is really not worthy of your time.

What's with the rubbish reviews!!
nezbitkn218 June 2020
I couldn't wait to review the movie as I really enjoyed it but then saw the overall rating below 4!!! What?! The film has a bit of everything. Love, torture, killing, chasing, hiding, heroes and villains..... I don't get what people want to be honest. Regardless, I really enjoyed and you probably will too so please ignore the poor ratings.

Much Better than expected
paveriii12 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I found this movie to be pretty good for this genre, especially knowing it was a lower budget movie. There were some interesting plot twists with the adopted son of a drug dealer being the target of a wickedly evil assassin, Roberto Sanchez, who definitely looked the part.

Trying to find and protect someone who is on a hunting trip and being hunted had some of the same general themes as the old Burt Reynolds "Deliverance" movie. Luke Goss gives a strong performance in his lead role and the rest of the cast was solid, starting with the exceptional Louis Mandylor and including the relatively unknown actors that played key roles like the son, the sheriff, the deputy and others.

The plot was not as predictable as I anticipated, and while there were no Oscar-worthy performances, it was an enjoyable film that I would highly recommend to those who like suspenseful "stalking killer" action dramas. Again, for a lower budget movie, I'd say well done!

NOT BAD FOR A LOW BUDGET FILM
missyjholden26 June 2020
This film has a small cast and was never going to be a blockbuster.I never expected it to be either and I think some people who have done reviews are expecting too much and rather obsessed with with the fact that Luke Goss was in a boyband (Yes so what?Get over it) He has been in some good films .He differs from Jason Statham in that in no way is Luke Goss accent anywhere near as bad as any of Statham's attempts at an American accent. The film is slow paced and never gets into any mega big budget action scenes, but I never expected it to.Just a few characters throughout the film and the film does eventually get going and it's watchable.

Poorly written tripe...
jaxbubba12 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I've not seen a more poorly written thriller than 'Legacy' in some time. Where mercenary hitman with chainsaws decide to leave their prey alive to ensure a happy family reunion at the film's end, and the film's foreshadowing of archery and hemophilia are never incorporated into the film's plot intensity or climatic conclusion.

Film's like 'Legacy' aren't difficult to write, and follow a very simple formula to accomplish success: (1) kill someone of importance to the main character (i.e. - family member), (2) do something stupid to get caught by the film's antagonist, (3) escape, and (4) seek revenge. This is script writing 101; however, none of which were present in this feature.

The premise of the film was simple enough. While on a hunting trip in the isolated wilderness, a father and his adopted teenage son are turned into the prey of unknown assailants. They are unexpectedly joined in their fight for survival by a stranger who reveals the disturbing truth about the son's biological father, an international crime lord, and why that crime lord has sent trained assassins to kill the teenager.

Again, this film was like a episode of the 60's Star Trek tv show, where only non-essential personnel were fodder for the kill. Seriously, we were only missing the red uniform tops to identify which poor unsuspecting extra was going to die next. Mothers, Fathers, Stepsons, and lead agents need not worry, no matter how many times you ridiculously enter / re-enter the assassin's kill zone.

In conclusion, this movie is a huge waste of time. 98 minutes of slow uneventful storytelling, and in the end you really could care less what happens to anyone on the screen. The "red herrings" are abundant, however, none come to fruition or any prevailence (i.e. - bow & arrow, chainsaw, hemophilia, etc.) I found this film very lackluster, boring, and not very entertaining. I really can't recommend viewing this feature.

Tragedy
omendata12 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This one tries to be more than the sum of its parts - It copies many other films...badly. First off , it tries ever so hard to make the bad guys as bad as the cowpunch killer in "No Country For Old Men" and for a moment it almost succeeded but the film has a very incoherent storyline right from the beginning and soon descends into chaos.

Then we emerge into a sort of Rambo style Cliffhanger scenario being hunted in the wilderness which really descends into farce especially when the ever so evil killer of hundreds of men, women, children decides to become a nice guy and leave the usually magnificent actor Mandylor alive and give Goss a chance - c'mon guys what was that all about? I am also confused; was he Goss's brother from another mother? as that is what comes across in their interplay; maybe I was just losing interest and missed something; not difficult I have to admit.

Contrary to the other reviewers I have always found Goss to be quite an accomplished actor but I am afraid he is miscast in this one and Magnificent Mandylor is wasted on this thriller-mish-mash!

Very amateurish
nielshenrikkrogh15 June 2020
This says it all: In the beginning there is a scene supposedly taking place in Belgrad (Serbia)......later in the movie the leading role meets one of his opponents from that scene who then says" I should have killed you in Budapest (Hungary) when I had the chance!" The rest is at same level....bad directing, mediocre acting (Luke Goss is doing his best though...".......waste of time in general...........

Disjointed story development
octville10 June 2020
We didn't know why Jake was targeted until he was in serious trouble. How did the agent and deputy get to Jake and his dad earlier than the killer? And the deputy's acting was quite flat, like he was a herded prisoner. I did not quite enjoy the movie at all.

weak B-movie
SnoopyStyle23 January 2021
British Intelligence Agent Gray (Luke Goss) arrests Balkan war criminal and underworld lord Boranovic for the International Criminal Court. While in detention, Boranovic contacts his killers to murder his targets. Gray must stop him with the help of the FBI and local police. Meanwhile, Jake and his father Frank are archery enthusiasts who set off for a hunting trip.

It's mostly a bad B-movie. The acting is bland. The directing is worst but the most egregious is the writing. The plot is relatively straight forward but it's still bad. There is a reveal which leaves me a bit weary. That's nothing outrageously wrong but there are issues with the premise if one tries to scratch beneath the surface. There are a couple of unnecessarily annoying characters. Jake is too old to act like a bratty teen and Deputy Bill is just as bad. It doesn't really make sense that daddy doesn't join them on the search. Their only weapons are Glocks when they know that there is a pro out there. The most infuriating may be the campfire out in the open as they are being pursued by a killer. It also doesn't make sense with the mother. There is no reason for entry without the mother. This is a weak B-movie from start to finish.

VIEWS ON FILM review of Legacy
burlesonjesse516 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Legacy is my latest review. It was released in May of this year and is distributed by I guess fourteen companies. R. Ellis Frazier helms as he shoots the colorful Baja California landscape in hinging and swallowing fashion. I thought to myself, "would an amateur rock collector literally go nuts if he or she was hanging out here?"

So OK, Legacy is violent, twisted, unsafe, and almost unabated. It's roughly about a hit-man with that same hit-man growing a conscience that seems to come out of nowhere. Yeah people die but the main protagonists eventually dodge their own salient demise. Talk about forced irony to serve the overlapping plot mechanics.

Legacy contains a script where the characters constantly spew stuff like "we keep moving" or "we need to move". The acting is half-wooden and almost tolerable with Guy Pearce lookalike Luke Goss leading a mostly unknown cast.

In verity, if you fancy a Red Rocks version of say 1993's Cliffhanger, then Legacy will give you a little leeway sans Sly Stallone. And if you dig a mountain man flick akin to Roger Spottiswoode's Shoot to Kill, then Legacy will help you find your dessert treeline Waterloo.

Globetrotting a few distant countries (when everything was supposedly filmed in Baja and LA) and featuring a villain who apparently dressed up like Steven Seagal circa Halloween 2016, Legacy involves a drug kingpin slash rapist who orders an assassin to gun down a father and son on a hunting trip.

Bullets fly, bows and arrows ascend, wild game are absent, and the pacing is prompt provided you ignore the fact that various personas fade into the sunset (what happened to the county Sheriff and the hit-man's third buddy?). Basically Legacy is an MTV-style B-movie that minus a pat ending, could've skyrocketed to A-level status. "Bequest" almost. Rating: 2 and a half stars.

(Half) Thriller of sniper !
saptesh7864 July 2020
Starting is interesting and we can connect this action thriller creating much hope for a good action movie. Background score is suitable to plot and creates fears to content. Outdoor photography is good especially in the woods. Acting by Luke is average. In first scene he beats a huge goon, but later he frightened by sniper, I think it is unjustified behavior of a character. He should be always fearless. First half is interesting but after that the action and thrill show fails down and loosing its grip. A dull climax and very average end make me unhappy feelings. I never expect such low end for high expectations raised movie in first half.

Based on real stories.
emrah-museljic9310 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I am Bosnian, and this movie depicts what is a reality for many people my age - that came to this world as a result of Serbian aggression on our country. Many ladies were raped and killed, and the ones that managed to survive somehow gave birth to kids like Jake. The whole time I was watching the movie I felt as if it was a continuation or aftermath of the movie "In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011)". I highly recommend watching both of these movies as they are filled with historic facts - which some viewers might appreciate.

Luke, don't call him my father.
nogodnomasters20 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Nolan Gray (Luke Goss) is an MI6 agent who has nabbed a bad guy. While in jail he gives the order to eliminate evidence of his wrong doing by eliminating his sons conceived in rape. Okay, weak plot point.

An assassin is in the US hunting down his son who was adopted by Louis Mandylor. To make things "interesting" the son is a bleeder who takes medicine by injection.

This was a rather boring man-hunt type of film considering the stars. Luke Goss's career has gone down hill since he did a film with Seagal. The Rick Perry glasses didn't make him look any smarter. With the big deal they made about the new style of arrows, I would have thought it would of had a role. BTW plot spoiler, they didn't get their buck.

Guide: No sex or nudity. No swearing as I recall.

Great scenery and weak supporting cast
lafchef7 December 2021
Luke Goss and 3 other actors - well cast. The cast and extras assembled are a mismatched poorly asssembled B film. It's as if they spent all budget on Goss, not leaving resources for the sheriffs clothing... mismatched , Ill fitting uniforms- goodwill would have been a better wardrobe consultant. Ian Sharpe, Renton Alexa. And Matt Valvaldi were simply miscast. This film, and I watched in its entirety, was the worst directed film since Nicholas Cage film. Left Behind.
