The Body in the Library
18 April 2018 | by Sleepin_DragonSee all my reviews

The Replacement gets under way with a strong, solid, measured opening episode. The word subtle would be a good one to describe the first installment, every dig, every action is subtle, whether it's in dialogue or a scathing glance. It does perhaps take a little time to open up, but the Library event is dramatic and shocking.

Very much a Single White Female feel to it, you just know the Replacement's going to turn out to be a psycho and terrorise poor Ellen.

It's great that a drama finally highlights just how tough it is for career women, when they have a baby, things naturally change, and it's tough for mums wanting to get straight back to work.

Well acted, Morven Christie and Vickie McClure are two of the most talented women on British television.

Slow initially, but soon opens up. 7/10
