Trivia

Throughout "Mug," the images appear sharp in the middle, diffused at the edges, the focus mimicking the limits of a human eye. "What we wanted to do is a kind of deformation of the world; he's deformed, and the world around him is deformed," director Malgorzata Szumowska said of the film's unusual lensing, which she conceptualized with cinematographer and co-writer Michal Englert. morality play mixed with dark comedy
9 November 2018 | by dmlaubSee all my reviews

Superb morality play mixed with dark comedy, as well as a fascinating and unvarnished look into the social mores of rural life. We're not sure where our hero is headed at the end of the movie but wherever it is, it's better than home.
