Trivia

In Dahl's book, the stories of Snow White and Red Riding Hood stand alone rather than overlap as they do in this film. The bridging device of the wolf telling the stories to the babysitter is also a new invention for the film. See more »

Way too long and boring.

'REVOLTING RHYMES': Two and a Half Stars (Out of Five)

A 29-minute animated short film in which the wolf from 'Little Red Riding Hood' tells his version of that famous fairy tale, as well as other takes on other classic fairy tales, involving other characters from that world (like Snow White and Cinderella). It was directed and written by Jan Lachauer and Jakob Schuh, and it's based on the popular rhymes written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Sir Quentin Blake. I found this short film (at 30-minutes) to be way too long and boring. It kind of ruins the whole 2018 Oscar Nominated Animated Shorts viewing experience, in my opinion! There's usually at least one short (every year) that does though. I like the concept for the film, but I didn't find it to be amusing, or entertaining, in the slightest though.
