Storyline

When a pastrami sandwich mysteriously appears in the Huang mailbox, Jessica appeals to the duly dismissive police, but picks up the suggestion this is rather for a neighborhood watch. As there is none, she plans to lead one in her dictatorial style, but the neighborhood association decides to start one and exclude her as utter non-team player. While Emery is dared to find grandma's cash cache in house, Evan is not amused when a neighbor mother fails to repays the cash he advanced and even flaunts the shoes she wasted it on. Louis trains Jessica in team attitude and overplays his hand to stage a need for a more efficient watch then the lax one set up without them, yet they discover the awkward truths. Eddie decides the Valentine's ball is the right team to shake his kissing virginity, an secret he confides in closet Robin boy-scout Trent. Written by KGF Vissers

Sandwich in the mailbox
5 July 2017 | by jamarianaSee all my reviews

Funny enough episode of Fresh Off the Boat. It's an intriguing episode and very relatable, at least for me - my mother is Taiwanese and we live in Finland (where my dad is originally from) in which my mother, brother, and I feel very foreign in. Anyway, in this episode of Fresh Off the Boat, Jessica suggests that the neighbourhood get a Night Watch in response to a sandwich being placed in their mailbox, which spooks them. Being the strong personality that Jessica is, the rest feel opposed to including her, even though it was her idea in the first place.

Meanwhile, Eddie is focused on getting his first kiss. It's a decent episode with some funny moments. Honestly, it's enough for me to see the Huangs every week - story or no. A rating of 7 may be pretty arbitrary, but I think it's fitting. It's not quite an 8, but it's definitely not a 5 and it's just above a 6. So there you go, watch it or don't. It's pretty standard.
